The Hills Were Alive…

Went out with a new friend tonight. Discovered that we both have an extreme love for Pans Labyrinth and Journey’s “Separate Ways” - was all fun and smiles until we were driving back and saw just how serious the fire was and how close to my house.

We pulled over and watched the fire spread about 50ft/half-minute. It was gloriously sad.

Pray for rain.

It has been a bit since I’ve given tumblr any attention. (mostly because I realized that most of the blogging on here isn’t really blogging and to be honest, I am a fan of actual blogging.) HOWEVER… I do miss writing, and sharing, and I thought maybe instead of wiping out this lil space, I’d give it another go…

Let’s talk about yesterday…

First… 106? Very hot. There’s that saying, “you make plans and God laughs…” and it’s very true. The things I had set out to accomplish yesterday were completely derailed and the temp/fires outside only added to my irritation. As the day went on, I had decided to snag JL to bring him to see Paris Carney do a short set at Molly Malone’s last night. Being super exhausted, I had dreaded it for most of the day. (don’t get me wrong, I love me some Paris Carney but I was totally moody and unsociable.)

But.. as usual, by the time I walked through the door, I heard about 5 notes of her singing and felt better. (she’s amazing guys.) Of course, as is my luck, the set ended just as soon as I had arrived!

JL then told me that I have a ‘swagger’ and that made me feel slightly cool… like a Black Eyed Peas song. Sort of. While chatting with him at the bar, a bartendress (real word or did I just invent it?) came up and asked if we wanted anything. I let her know we were good, and then… welcome weirdness! She grabs my arm in an extremely flirtatious way, gets close to me, and says ‘I just wanted to make sure honey.’ … holds on for a second… then walks away.

Needless to say… I sat there for a minute wondering WTF then just chalked it up to my ‘swagger’.. which I attribute to my new shoes. Because really? I am not really sure what that was.

A F T E R being felt up by bartendress, Paris, Reeve, Lisa, JL, and.. Matt (?) and I headed over to Swingers where talks of labels and vegan eats were on the table. It was an amazing time really. I am usually not a fan of going to Swingers as… everyone and their mother’s brother goes there after a show.. but… they have soy milkshakes and I mean… you can’t beat that, can you?

Moral/afterthoughts:

If you give into your mood and skip a show that you know will be good… you’ll go to bed with your bad day…

but…

if you take a chance, you could go to bed with no one but be less inclined to be mad about that fact. :)
